Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear and bring with me?

- Wear clothing you can easily move in, like track pants or yoga leggings.

- Bring layers to put on as you'll get hot when you're moving and you'll cool down when you're not.

- A towel in case you get sweaty and want to dry off.

- Snacks and your lunch. Please note that The Lotus Yoga centre is a vegetarian only space so please eat any meat outside of the centre.

- A bottle of water with a secure lid. The rules of the Lotus Yoga Centre are that you can only bring bottles of water into the studio so any other liquids or food you can keep in the kitchen to enjoy on breaks.

- A notebook and pen for writing down your insights

The workshop is 4 hours in total with breaks.

Do I need any dance experience?

Nope! Definitely not, this is open to all levels of dance experience. You're welcome if you've never danced before!

Is this right for me to do now, I've got some really heavy stuff going on?

This workshop can be powerful, and it’s designed to bring you into contact with what’s sitting beneath the surface. That means emotions or insights are likely to rise up. If you’re going through something very heavy right now and don’t feel resourced to be with what might come up, it may be kinder to yourself to wait.

If you’re unsure, we can speak about this during your free connection call. You’re also welcome to book a free Intuitive Strategy Session with me through my website. We can talk through what you’re navigating and I can share how I support clients one-to-one so you can get a sense of whether that feels right for you.

I’d love to have you in the workshop when the timing feels right for your wellbeing.

I'm nervous about dancing in front of others

This is absolutely normal and 100% part of the workshop, it's about moving through your nerves and fears that arise so you can feel more confident in your body and in your life. And remember there's no expectation to remember moves or keep up, even if you never get one move right you'll still be doing the workshop perfectly!

How many people will be on the workshop?

I've limited numbers to 12

Is this suitable if I've experienced trauma?

This depends on how much healing you've already done and where you're at with it currently, we can speak together about this in your free connection call. But this particular workshop is not designed to work deeply on trauma.

What if I get emotional?

This is definitely a space that welcomes your emotions! Bring tissues and there's space for you to take a break from the workshop to take care of yourself should you need to.

What if I need additional support after the workshop?

  • Fun progressive movement, with no pressure to remember moves or keep up

  • Support to help you gently expand your capacity to take up space, feel safe in your body and to move with more authenticity and confidence

  • Guidance to connect with your emotions so you can acknowledge, release or embrace whatever arises.

  • We’ll play with allowing you to feel sassy, soulful, bold or delicious, all without forcing anything.

  • As your resistance arises we'll dance right up to it mwhere I'll show you how to dissolve it so you'll open to greater freedom

  • You’ll leave with a simple, repeatable process you can use anytime you get stuck in life.

Kia ora, I'm Penny.

I’ve danced since childhood, and from my early twenties I trained some of London’s top dance studios including Pineapple, Husky and Studio 58 where professional classes showed me all the places I still held back.

Dance revealed my fear, but it wasn’t enough to free it, I had to learn how to feel safe with my emotions and release them with compassion.

When I combined emotional processing with movement, dance became a pathway back to my essential self.

I've worked in fitness and wellness for over 25 years

I've been a coach since 2006 and a Life Alignment Practitioner since 2011
